AMPRO: A History of Industrial Battery Expertise
AMPRO Inc. opened its doors in 2014 when owner Thomas Foushee founded the company in its original 5,000-square-foot location in High Point, NC. Foushee, who began his career as a Battery and Charger Technician more than 30 years ago, noticed that many industrial battery companies offered a one-size-fits-all solution. He knew from experience that each business has unique needs when it comes to battery power for forklifts and other DC-powered equipment.
Foushee wanted to offer local and regional businesses customized forklift powering solutions based on each company’s unique power demands. AMPRO has since been a leading provider of industrial forklift battery sales and service in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
Since our inception, our goal has been to provide experienced-based solutions that put our customers before profit.
A Timeline of Industrial Forklift Battery
Service at AMPRO
1990
Owner Thomas Foushee began his career as a battery and charger technician.
1993
Foushee started and managed the battery division for a Yale forklift dealer in Greensboro.
2003
Foushee managed the Greensboro branch operations for a battery dealer.
2007
Owner Thomas Foushee invented a Specialized, Flip-Top Watering Cap to aid in forklift battery watering.
2010
Foushee sold licensing rights to the specialized cap.
July 2014
AMPRO was founded and began offering Battery Builder premium industrial flat plate batteries and Ecotec chargers for class I, II & III electric forklifts and pallet jacks.
October 2016
AMPRO relocated to a 10,000-square-foot building in High Point, NC.
May 2017
2018
AMPRO partnered with One Charge Lithium to provide LFP technology for Class I, II, and III electric lift trucks.
2019
AMPRO became a GNB/Stryten battery distributor and added additional flat plate product as well as tubular high capacity batteries, tubular low maintenance batteries and sealed AGM maintenance-free batteries to its lineup.
2023
AMPRO purchased and moved into a new 20,600-square-foot, energy-efficient facility in Greensboro, NC.
